Kendle Appoints Oncology Director

Robert Shepard, M.D., FACP, has been appointed executive director of oncology medical affairs at Kendle. Dr. Shepard has more than 40 years of oncology research experience. He will oversee the development of oncology programs for customers worldwide, providing medical, safety and scientific support to clinical research teams, investigators and customer contacts.  

“We are delighted Dr. Shepard has joined Kendle,” said Melanie A. Bruno, Ph.D., vice president, Regulatory and Medical Affairs. “His unsurpassed experience and expertise will be invaluable to our customers as we work with them to bring new oncology therapies to market.”  

Dr. Shepard is board certified in oncology, hematology and internal medicine, and has a wide array of experience in translational medicine and clinical research. He has been actively involved in oncology research since 1970 and has been responsible for the complete clinical development of several drugs and immune therapies for biopharmaceutical companies, including serving as the consulting chief medical officer for six companies.
